Snehalaya - House of Love

In the outskirts town of Rottikaundanur, the Franciscans Conventuals have a convent. Near this convent a new hospital has been built to house patients afflicted with the deadly disease of Aids. The hospital complex comprises of five blocks of buildings. The first block has already been completed and the next 4 blocks are being built. Four friars has already been trained to work with the patients.

This house provides comfort and peace tothe patients who seem to be on death row due to the illness. Snehalaya is the place where these patients can depart this life with dignity, respect and love.

Kindergarden Kindergarden

 

This kindergarden complex is at Kolbe Ashram in State of Kerala - INDIA. Fr. Xerri would like to find a benefactor who can adopt some of these 40 kids. One can adopt a child for €50 a year.

These are the major projects that the Franciscan Conventuals community manage in the south of India. The Maltese Friars were the major promotors of the projects however nowadays a lot ofthese porjects are managed by locals.

FMO provides assistance to poor families by mobilizing families from huts (see top left photo) to small brick houses (see below left photo) . With the financial aid of Maltese and Gozitan benefactors, FMO has already build 500 of these brick homes

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seminarians

 

Houses for Spiritual Formation

The Franciscan Conventual community takes care for the spiritual formation of youths who can be future members within the Franciscan community.

There are 54 priests, 3 Friars, 47 seminarians in the Major Seminary and 63 seminarians in the Minor Seminary, 4 novices and 21 pre-novices.

Any benefactor can send us a generous financial aid of €600 in order to train a seminarian. These funds can be sent by monthly payments instead of a bulk payment.

The Leper Colony

Leper Community

In Andhra Pradesh state in Donapudi, there is a 29 leper colony both men and women. Fr. Xerri takes care of them by feeding them and providing shelter.

The annual cost to to run this colony is that of €11,650.

 

 

 

 

 

Water System inaugurated

 

Dondapudi - Water in Wells

 

Two new wells has been developed in the town of Dondapudi. The cost of these wells were donated by an Italian couple. Instead of celebrating their marriage in a luxurious wedding and honeymoon, all their funds were given for this cause.
